Bob Mitchell of the Toronto Star: The Leafs will carry 3 extra players to start the season. If they go with 2 extra defenseman, the 1 extra forward would be one of Philippe Dupuis, Joey Crabb, Colton Orr, Jay Rosehill and Darryl Boyce.
Adrian Dater of the Denver Post: The Avalanche cut 6 players yesterday dropping their camp number to 34. Among the cuts was 2011 1st round pick Duncan Siemens, who’ll be heading back to junior.
