Chris Johnston: Lightning’s Steven Stamkos said that his leg felt “a lot better” today.
Helene St. James: The Red Wings put Johan Franzen on the IR after he experienced some concussion symptoms.
Bob Duff: The Red Wings activate Joakim Andersson from the IR.
Arthur Staple: The Islanders put Travis Hamonic on the IR and recall Matt Donovan.
Anthony SanFilippo: Flyers Vinny Lecavalier is back on the wing. Brayden Schenn is at center. Steve Downie skating with the third line. Michael Raffl moved down to the fourth line.
Dave Isaac: Flyers Zac Rinaldo is not wearing a no-contract jersey today. Anthony SanFilippo: Rinaldo is skating but did not take part in line rushes. He could still play though.
Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun: Senators Mark Stone skated by himself yesterday. He’s progressing but not ready to practice with the team. Coach Paul MacLean is hopeful that Stone can return before the Olympic break.
Don Brennan: Senators defenseman Chris Phillips suffered a minor injury and will be kept out of the lineup tonight.
