11:00 AM: Tom Gulitti via twitter: John MacLean has been fired by the NJ Devils and Jacques Lemaire will take over. Lemaire will only coach the Devils for the remainder of the season. MacLean will remain with the organization in a role to be determined later.
9:15 AM: Charles Payette of CKAC Sports: Payette is saying that Michel Langevin of CKAC was told by sources close to the New Jersey Devils might have Jacques Lemaire behind the bench tonight, replacing John MacLean.
They are saying that Lemaire caught a flight to New Jersey this morning to resume coaching the team. Lemaire retired from coaching last year after the Devils were eliminated from the 1st round.
The Devils are 9-22-2 this season and are tied for last overall with 20 points. They have only 1 win in 9 games in December.
