Contract talks involving Chara, Gudbranson, and Burmistrov

Joe Haggerty via twitter: Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara on their contract extension talks, “We’re not on the exact same track. But we’re talking and we’ll see how it goes. We have a few days left.” They are trying to get a deal done before the start of the season.

Chraig Custance via twitter: Florida Panthers top 2010 draft pick (3rd overall) Erik Gudbranson is having an excellent camp and could make the team. Preliminary talks have taken place and are expected to heat up on Monday when the 2 sides will meet according to GM Dale Tallon. Atlanta Thrashers 1st round pick, Alexander Burmistrov is also on the verge of making the NHL after being drafted a couple months ago. The 2 sides are talking, and according to his agent Mark Gandler, “You can make a deal in five seconds if there are two willing parties.”
