Conflicting reports of New Jersey Devils Simon Nemen requesting a trade
Simon Cop: From a Slovak report – A source for Demmikn.sk reported that the New Jersey Devils defenseman Simon Nemec requested a trade. It was also noted that the Devils GM Sunny Mehta hasn’t spoken with Nemec, nor sent him a contract extension offer.
Tomas Prokop: Devils Simon Nemec didn’t request a trade.
Jim Biringer: “This is the second time a report has come out about Nemec from Slovakia.
Now there is some truth to it. According to sources around the trade deadline, Nemec was open to a change of scenery given the situation that has transpired in NJ.

James Nichols: Can confirm that Devils GM Sunny Mehta has been in contact with Nemec and his agent.
The Devils Nation: (back in early April) There were reports before the trade deadline that he could be looking Luke Hughes money, $9 million, on a long-term extension. His name had been in the rumor mill, as the Devils had been looking to add a top forward.
Nemec never formally asked for a trade before the deadline; he could be open to a change of scenery. He’s not eligible for an offer sheet.
James Nichols of NJ Hockey Now: Former Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald did offer Simon Nemec up for trade at this past trade deadline as he was looking to add a top-six forward.
