- Helene Elliott of the LA Times: Los Angeles Kings captain Dustin Brown was kicked out of last night’s game for a hit that was deemed to be a check to the head. The hit is expected to be reviewed by the league.
“If I’d hit him in the head, he’d probably be on the ice for a lot longer than he was,” Brown said. “The league’s looking at hits like that. I think that was a clean hit from top to bottom. Shoulder on shoulder. He’s shooting the puck — he’s in a vulnerable position maybe but I’m not going to not make that.”
- Darren Dreger via twitter: After Dreger looked at the video several times, Brown’s shoulder caught Antti Miettinen’s head after took the shot. Dreger doesn’t see a suspension for Brown, Mitettinen wasn’t hurt, time served is enough.
