Joe Haggerty: Boston Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk missed practice yesterday with a lower-body injury and isn’t expected to be in the lineup today.

Hawryluk to the IR

Florida Panthers PR: The Panthers put Jayce Hawryluk on the IR and recalled defenseman Bogdan Kiselevich.

Hall still plans on returning this year

Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils coach John Hynes on Taylor Hall: “As of now, we are planning on him coming back and playing (this yr). I don’t want to put a % on it, but as of now he is on a progression plan to come back to play and we’re anticipating that. Right now there’s no plans of him not playing this year.”

Mike Morreale: Forward Joey Anderson will likely replace Miles Wood (upper-body).

Clutterbuck’s status unclear

Brian Heyman: New York Islanders coach Barry Trotz said the Cal Clutterbuck was feeling better and they don’t think it’s serious. They’ll see how he feels today.

Penguins injury updates … Malkin clears air on his injury

“Murray: Full participant, might play tomorrow
Schultz: Full participant, didn’t sound likely to play tomorrow
Malkin: Non-contact, won’t play tomorrow. Maybe Philly, he said Aston-Reese: Non-contact Letang: Maintenance day”

Pens Inside Scoop: Coach Mike Sullivan on Murray, Malkin, Aston-Reese and Schultz: “They’re all skating, they’re all progressing and they’re all day-to-day.”

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Evgeni Malkin said that his upper-body injury happened before his fight with Steven Stamkos.

“It was not the Stamkos fight. (Dan) Girardi hit me on the second shift and I felt pain right away,” Malkin said.

Malkin added that he isn’t sure when he’ll and added: “I am a little bit nervous right now, again.”

He was placed on the IR but was able to practice.

Kempny and Djoos could be ready for today

Brian McNally: Washington Capitals coach Todd Reider said that defenseman Michal Kempny should be good to go today.

It’s possible that defenseman Christian Djoos is ready to return today.
