- Edmonton Oilers: Oilers coach Nelson on Taylor Hall’s lower leg injury: “He’s still day-to-day. It’s a bone bruise.” His status for tonight is not known.
- Dave Molinari: Penguins coach Mike Johnston doesn’t know if Evgeni Malkin will be on the ice this weekend. If he is, he could travel with the team to Western Canada next week.
- Dave Isaac: Flyers GM Ron Hextall thinks that Shayne Gostisbehere could be back playing by the end of February.
- Tim Panaccio: Hextall said that Scott Laughton skated yesterday on his own and is making some progress.
- Tim Panaccio: Flyers Nicklas Grossmann said he needs more time with his right shoulder movement. It was a soft-tissue injury and not a dislocation.
- Ansar Khan: Red Wings Jonas Gustavsson is getting close to returning. When he’s ready he’ll go to the AHL for a game or two on a conditioning assignment.
- Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Joe Vitale is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and is questionable for tomorrow.
- Scott Mitchell: Flames Curtis Glencross (lower-body) practiced yesterday, but was ruled out by head coach Bob Hartley for their game against the Wild.
- Mike Heika: Stars Erik Cole and Brett Ritchie practiced yesterday and will be game time decision tonight.
- Ken Wiebe: Jets head coach said there is nothing to be concerned with regards to Dustin Byfuglien and Jacob Trouba. Both will play against the Flyers.
- Rob Mixer: The Blue Jackets put Jeremy Morin on the IR with an upper-body injury.
- Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: If Artem Anisimov and Ryan Murray are cleared by doctors, they could play as early as tonight.
