- Renaud Lavoie: Jets Evander Kane has a shoulder injury. It’s not known if he’ll need surgery. Ted Wyman: Kane was put on the IR. He was willing to play through the injury before recent events.
- Eric Stephens of the OC Register: Ducks Ryan Getzlaf was a late scratch last night and his status for tonight is unknown.
“I don’t even know if he can play tomorrow but he’s coming to Washington with us,” Boudreau said. “I wouldn’t even call it doubtful, questionable. It’s an ‘I don’t know.’ Wake up and see how he feels.”
He was still getting treatment after the game and didn’t talk to reporters. Boudreau didn’t offer much on the injury.
- Eric Stephens: The Ducks are not skating this morning, so we won’t know about Getzlaf and Ilya Bryzgalov until just before the start of the game.
- Mike Chambers of the Denver Post: Avs Tyson Barrie missed last night’s game with a hip injury. Colorado Avalanche: Patrick Roy expects Barrie to be able to go on Saturday.
- Sam Carchidi: Flyers Kimmo Timonen will practice today. His first one since his blood clots were detected.
- Chip Alexander: Hurricanes Ryan Murphy took a high stick and appeared to twist his knee as he was falling. Helped off the ice.
- Pittsburgh Penguins: Christian Ehrhoff has been working out and they hope he can start practicing with the team when they return.
- Joanne Ireland: The Oilers put Nikita Nikitin (shoulder) on the IR.
- Chicago Blackhawks: Kris Versteeg will travel the team on their road trip. Scott Powers: Versteeg practiced with the team yesterday in a no-contact jersey.
- Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Mikkel Boedker is around the team, but not close to returning. Coach Dave Tippett said he’s lost about 20 pounds.
- Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Joe Vitale is probably out another week. He is skating.
- Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Martin Hanzal is out at least another week.
- Rich Chere: Devils Damon Severson (fractured ankle) will have another x-ray next week. If it looks good, he’ll start skating.
- David Alter: Maple Leafs Dion Phaneuf won’t play tonight and is hopeful for tomorrow.
- Brian Murphy: Wild GM Chuck Fletcher expects to have prognosis on Matt Cooke today.
- Jon Rosen: Panthers Willie Mitchell is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
