Mike Chambers: Avalanche’s Ryan Wilson is done for the season.
Adrian Dater: Avalanche’s Semyon Varlamov is out with a groin injury.
Alex Prewitt: Capitals coach Barry Trotz said there is “a very outside chance” that Brooks Laich will play against the Avalanche. They are hopeful for Saturday or for sometime next week.
