Sharks.NHL: The Sharks put Joe Thornton on the IR.

Tracey Myers: Blackhawks Kris Versteeg will be out about a month with a left hand injury. Coach Joel Quenneville thinks surgery is “doubtful.”

George Richards: Roberto Luongo left the game, but returned to the bench part way through the third period.

Bruce Garrioch: Senators Chris Neil won’t travel with the team and will skate with Shean Donovan.

Wes Gilbertson: Flames Ladislav Smid is expected to practice this morning.

Wes Gilbertson: Flames Josh Jooris wore a no-contact jersey at practice yesterday, but is expected to fully participate today.

Mark Stepneski: The Stars put Shawn Horcoff on the IR.

Elliotte Friedman: Maple Leafs Joffrey Lupul is out three to four weeks with a knee injury. Peter Holland is out week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Nazem Kadri is expected to be out a week.

James Mirtle: The Maple Leafs put Peter Holland on the IR.

Rich Chere: No indication if Devils Eric Gelinas has the mumps.
