- Chris Pinkert of Blues.NHL: Blues Vladimir Tarasenko and Alexander Steen are day-to-day with lower body injuries. Tarasenko has been ruled out for tonight, but coach Ken Hitchcock wouldn’t say whether Steen will play or not.
“Lower-body, day-to-day,” Hitchcock said. “That’s what you’re going to get for the next four months, so get used to it. It’s playoff time. Anybody that’s out – we won’t comment until they come back in.
“Everybody is day-to-day and certainly everybody is going to be available for Game 1 of the playoffs.”
- Mike Petraglia: Boston Celtics Kelly Olynyk said that Bruins Dougie Hamilton has “broken ribs.”
- Andrew Gross: Rangers Martin St. Louis will return from his MCL injury tonight.
- Andrew Gross: Rangers J.T. Miller was just a little stiff from Dustin Byfuglien’s cross check. There was some swelling around base of his neck.
- Josh Yohe: Penguins Kris Letang still hasn’t started exercising.
- Dave Molinari: Penguins coach Mike Johnston said that Christian Ehrhoff skated yesterday and he could practice with the team on Thursday or Friday.
- Rich Hammond: Sense is that Kings Andrej Sekera’s injury is not minor if you’re reading between the lines of Darryl Sutter/Robyn Regehr’s comments. He was seeing that doctor yesterday.
- Tom Gulitti: Devils Stephen Gionta hurt his lower back on Tuesday and didn’t practice yesterday. He was sore yesterday and they’ll see how he feels today.
- Eric Stephens: Ducks Tim Jackman (lower-body) didn’t take part in line rushes yesterday, but was on the ice skating.
- Scott Powers: Blackhawks Trevor van Riemsdyk suffered an upper-body injury and will out some time.
- Mark Lazerus: Blackhawks Patick Kane on playing soon: “It’s not realistic. It’s not possible. You’ll drive yourself crazy if you start thinking of certain dates.” Chris Kuc: Kane will travel with the team to Buffulo later this week to “see some peeps.”
