Lisa Dillman of the LA Times: Kings Tyler Toffoli has been diagnosed with mononucleosis. Tanner Pearson fractured his fibula and has been put on the IR. No timetables have been given.
Ansar Khan: Red Wings Jimmy Howard had an MRI yesterday and will have an ultrasound today to check out his groin injury. The Wings put Howard on the IR and recalled Tom McCollum.
Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets Ryan Murray’s agent said last week that his knee is improving but there still is no timetable for his return.
Philadelphia Flyers: Steve Mason is expected to be out for up to two weeks with a lower body injury. Frank Seravalli: GM Ron Hextall said he has no second thoughts about playing Mason while he was clearly injured. Hextall said that they were in a position where they needed to win.
