Injuries: Updates On Over 16 Players Including Some Big Names

Dan Murphy: Canucks GM Jim Benning didn’t give a timetable for Ryan Miller’s return. He said they are prepared to go with Eddie Lack and Jacob Markstrom for weeks if need be.
Elliotte Friedman: Markstrom was an emergency call-up, so he can stay on the Canucks roster for no more than 30 days without needing to go through waivers to return to the AHL. If he plays in 10 games, he would be required to go through waivers.
Nick Kypreos: Hearing that David Krejci’s knee injury could be long-term and he could be out for the good portion of the regular season. He will be re-evaluated later this week.
Helene St. James: Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that Henrik Zetterberg (head) is doubtful for their game against the Ducks.
Ian Mendes: Senators Craig Anderson practiced with the teams for the first time in almost a month. He looked pretty comfortable in net. Anderson said that he’ll travel with the team out west, but there is no guarantees that he’ll play.
Paul Hendrick: Leafs Dion Phaneuf skated with the main group and is expected to play on Thursday.
David Alter: Leafs Phil Kessel was given a maintenance day. Michael Traikos: Have been told that Kessel has been dealing with an ongoing groin issue.
Tim Campbell: Jets defenseman Ben Chiarot will be out six weeks with a hand injury according to head coach Paul Maurice.
Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that goalie Keith Kinkaid had an MRI yesterday that showed nothing: “At this point it’s just time.”
Steve Zipay: Rangers Jesper Fast practiced in a non-contract jersey for a second day.
Adam Kimelman: Flyers Kimmo Timonen said that he still needs a few more days of practice. He won’t play this week, possibly Saturday.
Sarah McLellan: Coyotes Zbynek Michalek didn’t travel with the team, but his equipment did. They will see where he’s at mid-week.
Jeremy Rutherford: Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said that Kevin Shattenkirk has been skating the past few days, including 30 minutes today.
Chicago Blackhawks: Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said that Johnny Oduya will miss a couple weeks with an upper-body injury.
Sara Orlesky: Jets Blake Wheeler didn’t practice today and his status for tomorrow is not known.
Renaud Lavoie: Canadiens Alexei Emelin will resume skating later this week. There will be more tests on his right shoulder. He’ll be returning in March at some point.
