Randy Miller via twitter: Flyers forward Daniel Briere said it would a stretch to play this weekend, and he’s not sure if he’ll be ready by the end of the month.

Ansar Khan via twitter: Red Wings Darren Helm said he’s doubtful for their opener on Saturday. His back still hurts and he’s not sure when he’ll be back on the ice. Mikael Samuelsson is also not skating due to a groin injury.

James Mirtle via twitter: Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said that Colton Orr has a dislocated finger and James van Riemsdyk has a bruised foot.

Ken Wiebe via twitter: Jets Antti Miettinen is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

Mark Stepneski via twitter: Stars Philip Larson (elbow) and Aaron Rome (groin) were held out today for precautionary reasons.

Chris Nichols via twitter: The Canucks will be without David Booth for 4 to 6 weeks. He suffered a groin injury on Sunday during tests for physicals.
