Injury Notes: Pitkanen, Rinne, Jovanovski and Downie

Ken Preston CarolinaHurricanes.com: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford announced that Joni Pitkanen will miss the entire 2013-14 season. He suffered a broken left calcaneus (heel) bone on April 2nd and missed the remainder of the season.
Josh Cooper: Predators Pekka Rinne has been cleared to play. He won’t take part in the first two exhibition games.
Harvey Fialkov: Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that all injured players should be ready for the start of the season except maybe for Ed Jovanovski.
Mike Chambers: Avalanche winger Steve Downie is expected to be ready for the start of the season.
