Kesler’s recovery … Canucks – Doan didn’t talk contract, but they did with Arnott … Why the Leafs shouldn’t get Bernier … Brooklyn arena

Denis Hamill of the NY Daily News: Bruce Ratner (CEO of Forest City Ratner),

“Sixty days and we have a sports arena again in Brooklyn,” Ratner says, as steelworkers weld the canopy behind him in a shower of blue sparks. “It’ll be 60 days till Jay-Z’s opening night of eight sold-out shows at the arena. And 93 days until the Brooklyn Nets become the first professional sports team to play in Brooklyn since O’Malley took the Brooklyn Dodgers west in 1957.”

“And I am trying like hell to get the Islanders to make Barclays Center their new hockey home,” says Ratner, sweeping his hand across the big arena where workers in cherry-picker buckets installed acoustic panels on the domed ceiling as others installed black seats. “They will play a pre-season game here against the Devils.”

Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly talks about the Flyers. Maybe calling the Sharks about Dan Boyle or Douglas Murray
