Massive Rumor update

• Mark Spector via twitter: The Oilers really like Griffin Reinhart. Word now is they may trade down, don’t want the pressure of being the #1 pick. Originally heard Reinhart was their 2nd choice, could he become their first choice?

• Tim Thomas via twitter: Tim Thomas waived his no-movement clause that would have expired at July 1st. Teams that are close to the cap floor have inquired.

• Gary Lawless via twitter: The Jets have indicated they do not expect to trade their 9th overall draft pick.

• Jimmy Murphy via twitter: Source saying the Canucks are still in the listening mode regarding Roberto Luongo, nothing imminent.

• Craig Custance via twitter: There is nothing close on the Jonathan Bernier trade front. 2nd best goalie on the market behind Luongo. Goalie market shrinking fast. Jim Matheson via twitter: The Kings aren’t crazy about trading Bernier until they can get Jonathan Quick locked up, but running out of places to trade Bernier. Spector’s Hockey via twitter: The Kings don’t have to shop Bernier this year. They can shop him at next years trade deadline or in the summer.

• Rob Rossi via twitter: The Penguins may now be concerned about Jordan Staal’s value, considerably less than they previously hoped.

• Sarah McLellan via twitter: Coyotes GM Maloney indicated he has defensive depth and that is what he’d trade. They’ll have a need at center with Langkow possibly leaving. They could also use RWers. If Ray Whitney leave, to LW spot would open up.

• Aaron Portzline via twitter: Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson said no offers are close. “They have a ways to go yet.”

• Craig Custance via twitter: Howson hasn’t ruled out acquiring another goalie. Not a priority. Receiving calls about #2.

• Mike Morreale via twitter: Morreale thinks the Flyers will now use the acquired 45th pick to select goalie Oscar Dansk.

• Darren Dreger via twitter: The Blue Jackets trade a 2012 2nd (#45), 4th (#117) and a 2013 4th round pick to the Flyers for Sergei Bobrovsky.

• Rob Rossi via twitter: The Penguins may not be shopping him, but they may not rule out trading Brooks Orpik in addition to Paul Martin and Zbynek Michalek.

• Rob Rossi via twitter: Rossi is hearing that the Hurrcanes feel Jordan Staal will be theirs sooner than later. They are now less willing to blow away the Penguins in a deal.

• Dustin Leed via twitter: There is lots of talk about the Ducks 6th overall pick. Looking like it’s in play, and the Flyers are one of the teams interested.

• Jimmy Murphy via twitter: Murphy thinks a package of David Krejci, a top prospect and a draft pick could pry Keith Yandle out of Phoenix.

• Paul Hendrick via twitter: Leafs GM Brian Burke said there is a good chance they draft a defenseman at #5.

• Andy Strickland via twitter: As of last night the Flames hadn’t approached Jay Bouwmeester about waiving his no-trade clause.

• Louis Jean via twitter: Someone close to the Penguins-Staal negotiations said that GM Ray Shero was livid following the rejection of the 10 year contract.

• Louis Jean via twitter: Senators GM Bryan Murray said he hasn’t inquired about Bobby Ryan, but has kicked tires on other available players.

• John Lu via twitter: Bryan Murray said they are still in the Rick Nash hunt, still talking with the Blue Jackets. Renaud Lavoie via twitter: Budget question for the Senators now.

• Andy Strickland via twitter: Sources are saying the Coyotes are not actively shopping Keith Yandle but listening to offers. The Coyotes could use a #1 center.

• Shawn Mitchell via twitter: Ryan Murray said the Blue Jackets grilled him hard during their meeting. Alex Galchenyuk said that Nail Yakupov told him that people were “mean” in meetings with the Blue Jackets and Hurricanes.
