Pat Leonard: Rangers Daniel Carcillo will appeal his 10-game suspension.
Andrew Gross: Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said the Daniel Carcillo incident was avoidable, especially if Brandon Prust was given a penalty. Vigneault added that Carcillo understands the situation and that it may cast some doubt on Carcillo’s NHL future.
James Mirtle: Canadiens Brandon Prust said he was suspended because the hit was late more than the hit itself. Rob Longley: Prust: “If there was no injury I was thinking no games.”
Darren Dreger: Rangers Derek Stepan had a plate inserted to stabilize his jaw. Unclear if he can play.
NY Rangers: Derick Brassard said he’s good to play today. Head coach Alain Vigneault: “That’s good to know! He didn’t tell me! That’s good news”
Katie Strang: Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien said that he was upset that the Rangers assistant coaches were watching the Canadiens practice and that it’s not accepted on non-game days. Bruce Arthur: Therrien added that there is a gentleman’s agreement that you do not watch the other teams practice.
