The New York Islanders and Johnny Boychuk have agreed to a seven-year contract worth $42 million, a $6 million cap hit.
The Islanders had acquired Boychuk from the Bruins for the Flyers 2015 2nd round pick, the Islanders 2016 2nd round pick and a conditoinal 2015 3rd round pick.
The 31-year old Boychuk was drafted 61st overall in the 2nd round of the 2002 draft by the Avalanche. He is carrying a $3,366,667 cap hit this season.
