Calgary Flames: The Flames have activated defenseman Zayne Parekh from the IR and loaned him to Canada’s U20 World Junior team.

NHL: Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard won’t be in the lineup tonight after suffering an injury with one second left in the game last night on a faceoff. Coach Jeff Blashill said that they’ll have an update on Monday, and added, “I think it’s a freak accident to be honest with you.”

Evan Rawal: Colorado Avalanche forward Joel Kiviranta was feeling good yesterday and could be in the lineup tonight.

Sarah McLellan: Minnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin is questionable for tonight. Forward Marcus Foligno has started skating on his own.

Brooks Bratten: Nashville Predators forward Cole Smith and defenseman Justin Barron, both on the IR, were on the ice for practice yesterday.

Amanda Stein: New Jersey Devils forward Arseny Gritsyuk will be out for both games this weekend with an upper-body injury. It happened before Thursday’s game, and he tried to play through it.

Forward Cody Glass and Stefan Noesen missed practice yesterday but should be good for today.

Stefen Rosner: New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat could be out for one to three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Stefen Rosner: Islanders forward Jonathan Drouin returned to the lineup.

Vince Z. Mercogliano: New York Rangers’ forward Matt Rempe won’t be in the lineup tonight, as they want him to get into a couple of full-contact practices before returning to the lineup.

Jessi Pierce: Ottawa Senators forward Lars Eller is going to be out for “a little while,” and “we won’t see him the rest of this road trip for sure.” Eller blocked a shot on Thursday night.

Wes Crosby: The Pittsburgh Penguins activated forward Rickard Rakell from the IR.

Seattle Kraken PR: Forward Jared McCann will be out three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Tampa Bay Lightning: Defenseman Victor Hedman will have elbow surgery on Monday and is expected to be out until early February. He should be ready for the Olympics.

Dave McCarthy: Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo had foot surgery on December 3rd and will be out a month from that date.

David Alter: Maple Leafs defenseman Chris Tanev met with doctors on Wednesday and is getting a second opinion.

Dave McCarthy: Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll practiced again yesterday but won’t be in the lineup tonight. He could return on Tuesday.

Dave McCarthy: There are no plans for Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz to return to the ice in the near future.

Coach Craig Berube when asked if Stolarz’ season is in jeopardy, “I wouldn’t go there but he won’t be on the ice any time soon.”

Darren Dreger: Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson will test his issue out this morning and will play if he feels good. He left in some pain on Thursday night.

Lance Hornby: Maple Leafs defenseman Marshall Rifai practiced in a regular jersey for the first time.

NHL: Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck hasn’t been ruled out tonight. Coach Scott Arniel said they’ll see how he feels this morning. Hellebuyck had knee surgery on November 22nd and was expected to be out for four to six weeks. He returned to practice on Wednesday.
