Tarik El-Bashir: Vitek Vanecek could return early next week from his lower-body injury.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Defenseman Torey Krug took a puck to the face in the second period and didn’t finish the game. An update will likely come today.

Forward Jakob Forsback Karlsson crashed into the boards in the second period. He tried to continue but was pulled with an upper-body injury and is day-to-day.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Montreal Canadiens: Noah Juulsen (bruised foot) and Andrew Shaw (neck) didn’t practice yesterday.

On the St. Louis Blues …

St. Louis Blues: Jay Bouwmeester will have his ankle fracture evaluated in three weeks. Zach Sanford will be out five to six months with a dislocated shoulder.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Ben Kuzma: GM Jim Benning said that Jonathan Dahlen is cleared of mononucleosis symptoms but won’t start skating just yet. He will start the season in the AHL

Mike Heika: The Stars are hoping that Martin Hanzal (ankle) can start skating on Thursday. Miro Heiskanen (concussion) will remain in Finland.
