Miller takes a puck to the throat

Justin Leger: Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller left last night’s game against the Maple Leafs after being struck in the throat by a puck. He went to the hospital for evaluation.

“Right now it doesn’t look serious, which is great news for Kevan and his family,” said Cassidy on the NESN postgame show. “They’ll keep him overnight and hopefully tomorrow his breathing will be back to normal and he can come back and join us. Obviously we wish him well and hope there’s no further damage.”

Sheary tweaks something but should be okay

Brayton Wilson: Buffalo Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian was given a maintenance day yesterday.

Forward Conor Sheary tweaked something at practice and coach Phil Housley said that he could be a game-time decision tonight. Housley didn’t seem overly concerned and expects him to play.

Patrik Berglund is progressing for injury and skated with the team yesterday.

Two injured Hurricanes D

Michael Smith: Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jake Bean and forward Valentin Zykov practiced yesterday but defenseman Brett Pesce (lower-body) and Hayden Fleury (concussion) didn’t.

Murphy getting closer

Charlie Roumeliotis: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy said that he’s still at least week away from returning. He still hasn’t been cleared for contact.

No need for LTIR for Stars yet
