He is hoping to return from his foot infection on Saturday against the Maple Leafs.

Seabrook ill … Forsling to the IR

Jimmy Greenfield: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook missed last night’s game with an illness.

Jimmy Greenfield: The Blackhawks have put defenseman Gustav Forsling on the IR with an upper-body injury retroactive to January 5th.

Petrovic out a week

Kurt Leavins: Edmonton Oilers defenseman Alex Petrovic will be out for a week.

Jim Matheson: Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto injured his hand just before the New Year. It appears his injury is worse than they had originally thought. He is on the IR.

Martinez could return tonight

Jon Rosen: Los Angeles Kings coach Willie Desjardins yesterday on if defenseman Alec Martinez could be ready to return against the Senators tonight: “I think there’s a good chance he’ll be able to go tomorrow. We’ll see at the morning skate, but I think there’s a good chance we’ll see him.”

Turris not traveling with the Preds

Adam Vingan: Nashville Predators forward Kyle Turris isn’t traveling with the team. They will be traveling home after their game against the Blue Jackets tonight before they head to Carolina for their game on Sunday.

ZAR to the IR

Shelly Anderson: The Pittsburgh Penguins have put forward Zach Auston-Reese on the IR and recalled Garrett Wilson.

Auston-Reese was injured in a fight on Tuesday night. More may be known today.

DeBoer with a concussion?

Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer missed Tuesday’s game after he took a puck to the head on Monday and he figures it could be a concussion and not the flu or cold that he originally thought.

Kevin Kurz: DeBoer said that both Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Justin Braun are doubtful against the Golden Knights.

Andersen hopeful for Saturday but Babcock thinking Monday

Kristen Shilton: Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen said that he is eyeing a Saturday return.

Coach Mike Babcock is thinking Monday for Andersen more than Saturday.

Subban not feeling well

David Schoen: Vegas Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant said that goaltender Malcolm Subban was “not feeling good” and they’ve recalled Maxime Lagace.
