Michael Russo: Minnesota Wild forward Zach Parise was able to play last night and Matt Read has been reassigned to Iowa of the AHL.

Smith activated

Adam Vingan: The Nashville Predators have activated forward Craig Smith from the IR.

Philadelphia Flyers: Forward Jakub Voracek missed yesterday’s game with a lower-body injury.

Sharks will be cautious with Karlsson … Kane out, Burns in

Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer on Erik Karlsson: “It’s a version of the same injury. I don’t anticipate it being long term. No surgery, nothing like that. But, we’re going to be obviously extra cautious and make sure. … It’s going to get better, it’s just time. So that’s good news.”

Paul Gackle: Sharks forward Evander Kane wasn’t able to go last night. Defenseman Brent Burns (illness) was able to play.
