Eric Stephens: Anaheim Ducks forward Leo Carlsson missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury. He suffered the injury against the Blue Jackets last week and wasn’t expected to play on Saturday, but did.

Stephen Whyno: Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin and forward Seth Jarvis are week-to-week with upper-body injuries.

  • Chip Alexander: Coach Rod Brind’Amour said that Jarvis is out with a rib injury and he assumes Slavin is out because the hit from Greer.

NHL: Hurricanes forward Jordan Martinook missed his third consecutive game last night with a lower-body injury.

Aaron Portzline: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski missed last night’s game. Coach Dean Evason said that Werenski did all he could to be in the lineup, but the team thought it was best to give him a full five days to heal up. He’s listed as day-to-day.

Aaron Portzline: Blue Jackets forward Miles Wood returned to the lineup.

NHL: Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane will miss his fifth consecutive game tonight with an upper-body injury.

NHL: Edmonton Oilers goaltender Tristan Jarry will be out for a couple of weeks, according to coach Kris Knoblauch.

Zach Dooley: Los Angeles Kings goaltender Darcy Kuemper was on the ice yesterday. It’s unlikely that he plays tonight, but good news nonetheless.

Coach Jim Hiller: “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but when you see , you start seeing progress. Difficult to measure how long it’s going to take, but you like to see it moving forward.”

Stefen Rosner: New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin won’t be in the lineup tonight due to a “small nagging issue.”

Adam Kimelman: Philadelphia Flyers forward Christian Dvorak (lower-body) and goaltender Dan Vladar (upper-body) returned to the lineup last night after missing Saturday’s game.

Daily Faceoff: San Jose Sharks forward Will Smith will be out week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Kate Shefte of the Seattle Times: Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour will be out for about four weeks after having surgery on his hand and was placed on the IR.

Montour suffered the injury in a fight with Brent Burns back on December 16th. It was hard to see what actually happened, but it looked like several punches could have hit Burns’ helmet.

Forward Berkley Catton is close to returning to the lineup. Forwards Jared McCann and Jaden Schwartz aren’t travelling with the team on their four-game road trip that ends tonight.

Dan Arritt: Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn left in the third period last night after taking a hit from Ducks forward Ross Johnston.

Thomas Drance: Vancouver Canucks coach Adam Foote suggested that forward Elias Pettersson’s return is delayed because he tweaked or jammed his upper-body injury. Foote didn’t sound certain that Pettersson would return right after the break.
