- Ansar Khan: Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said he thinks that Pavel Datsyuk will return on Friday against the Sabres. Babcock said he didn’t know Datsyuk hadn’t ruled out Wednesday.
- John Vogl: Sabres Jhonas Enroth, Tyler Myers and Michal Neuvirth are “still a ways away” from getting back in the lineup according to Ted Nolan.
- Sam Carchidi: Flyers coach Craig Berube said that Kimmo Timonen will return tomorrow.
- Randy Miller: Devils GM Lou Lamoreillo thinks that Ryane Clowe will play again this year. Doctor said he didn’t suffer a concussion on Monday.
- George Richards: Panthers Scottie Upshall appears to have an ankle injury. Brad Boyes is bothered by a sore back.
- Mike Vogl: Capitals Dustin Penner is day-to-day with an illness.
- Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: Wild’s Keith Ballard is “getting close” to returning to the lineup from his groin injury.
- Derek Van Diest of the Edmonton Oilers: Oilers Nail Yakupov had a bit of set back after skating on Saturday.
“I guess after coming off, it started to blow back up on him,” Eakins said.
“He’s had a bit of a setback there. As it went on later in the day, it started to swell back up, so we had to take a step back and re-evaluate.”
