NHL Injuries: Leafs, Pens, Lightning, Sabres, Wings, Jackets, Blues, and Jets

Mitch Marner
On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Darren Dreger: Mitch Marner’s injury isn’t serious. He may not play tonight, but it’s not believed to be a long-term issue.

Jonas Siegel: Forward Mitch Marner didn’t practice yesterday and coach Mike Babcock is hopeful that he’ll be able to go tonight. He’s listed as day-to-day with an apparent shoulder injury.

“Obviously if I’m in charge he’s in,” Babcock said of Saturday’s game, a date against the Carolina Hurricanes to follow Sunday. “If the doctors are in charge they’ll decide (Saturday).”

Leafs Lunch: Babcock on Leafs Lunch:

“He’s day-to-day. The doctors will decide whether tomorrow’s the day or not. We’ll just see how he does. He’s got an upper-body injury and obviously we’ll have him in the lineup as soon as he’s capable. That’s why they don’t let the coach make the these decisions or he’d be in.”

SportsCentre: Babcock said that Nikita Soshnikov would draw in if Marner can’t play.
