Eric Engels: Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He’s questionable for tonight’s game.

Jeremy Rutherford: St. Louis Blues have activated Robby Fabbri, Nikita Soshnikov and Carl Gunnarsson from the IR.

Tanev likely out Friday

Vancouver Canucks: Defenseman Chris Tanev wasn’t in the lineup last night and is not expected to be in the lineup on Friday due to a bruised hip. Canucks coach Mike Green said they’re hopeful that he can travel with the team on their six-game road trip.

Vancouver Canucks: The Canucks are still waiting to hear how long Brandon Sutter is going to be out for and are awaiting the MRI results.

Quick has surgery

LA Kings: Goaltender Jonathan Quick will be out indefinitely after having surgery to repair a torn Meniscus in his knee.

“Injuries do happen and not sure there’s anything in particular you can point to in this situation,” Head Coach John Stevens said to LA Kings Insider after practice on Oct. 30.

“I think he’s done a good job of really staying on top of everything, his preventative maintenance, his daily routines, so these things happen sometimes and you have to deal with them.”

Jon Rosen: Kings forward Gabriel Vilardi is wearing a no-contact jersey but it progressing. There is no timetable on when he could return.
