NHL Injuries: Pens, Panthers, Habs, Devils, Rangers, Sabres, Sharks, Preds, Ducks, Wild and Stars

Kris Letang of the Pittsburgh Penguins
On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: The Penguins continue to not say what defenseman Kris Letang‘s injury is. He’s been out for more than week, missing their past five games. It’s not sounding like his return to the lineup is imminent either.

“I wouldn’t say he’s day-to-day at this point,” Sullivan said. “We’re hopeful that it’s nothing long term.”

On the Florida Panthers …

George Richards of the Miami Herald: Roberto Luongo left Thursday’s game early. GM/coach Tom Rowe said that Luongo would miss a week with the injury, but Luongo may not be as sure.

“There is no timeline on this,” he said.

Luongo had offseason hip surgery, but this recent injury is not believed to be causing the pain, but it might be related to it. Luongo said last week that he had a nagging issue, but kept playing.

On the Montreal Canadiens …

Eric Engels: Forward Alex Radulov missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

On the New Jersey Devils …

Chris Ryan: Forward Pavel Zacha wasn’t able to play last night, but hasn’t been ruled out for today.

On the New York Rangers …

Steve Zipay: Forward Michael Grabner and defenseman Kevin Klein didn’t skate yesterday and are still out.

On the Buffalo Sabres …

John Vogl of the Buffalo News: X-rays weren’t good for Kyle Okposo‘s rib injury.

“He’s week-to-week at this point in time,” Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said Saturday. “I hope that can be re-evaluated and get a better result after we go through seven to 10 days.”

On the San Jose Sharks …

Kevin Kurz: Joonas Donskoi and Dylan DeMelo could be options for today. David Schlemko is traveling with the team, but didn’t skate yesterday.

On the Nashville Predators …

Adam Vingan: Defenseman Ryan Ellis wasn’t able to go last night.

On the Anaheim Ducks …

Curtis Zupke: Defenseman Clayton Stoner has been skating for the past month, suffered a set back from the abdominal surgery he had in December.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: Zach Parise and Jason Pominville were at practice yesterday and both are planning on playing today. The Wild are hopeful they are finished with the mumps.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Forward Antoine Roussel suffered an upper-body injury and could be done for the year.

“It’s not good news. I don’t have a time frame but it’s going to be a while; in all likelihood the rest of the year.  That hurt us.”
