Scott Powers: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy is traveling with the team on their road trip but he is not expected to play. He has been cleared for contact and is close to returning.
Klingberg expected back this month
Mark Stepneski: Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery said that the latest defenseman John Klingberg could return is December 27th. So he could get back in the lineup before Christmas.

Max Bultman: Detroit Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha will be out for four to six weeks with a hand injury.
Lewis suffers a setback
Jon Rosen: Los Angeles Kings forward Trevor Lewis suffered a setback and is going to be out a while according to coach Willie Desjardins.
Lehner tweaks something
Brian Compton: New York Islanders forward Barry Trotz said that goaltender Robin Lehner “tweaked a little something.” Lehner won’t be going on the IR and that it’s more of a precaution.
Rangers could get four back soon
Rick Carpiniello: Injured New York Rangers Mats Zuccarello, Pavel Buchnevich, Vladislav Namestnikov and Adam McQuaid practiced yesterday and they could return during their road trip to Florida and Tampa.
Baertschi practices
Vancouver Canucks: Canucks forward Jay Beagle returned to the lineup last night: “Getting injured that early in the season was tough, especially coming to a new team. Rehab and recovery went well, so I’m just pumped for tonight.”
Baertschi visited a concussion specialist last week in Detroit.
Brandon Sutter skated before practice. He’s not expected to return until after Christmas.
Wilson may have suffered a concussion
Isabelle Khurshudyan: Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has an “upper-body” injury according to the team.
It looked like Wilson suffered a concussion. The Capitals classify concussions under “upper-body” injuries.
Ian Oland: Capitals coach Todd Reirden said that Wilson’s head had slammed off of the ice and that Wilson will be re-evaluated this morning.
