Heather Engel: Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin missed last night’s game for personal reasons. He’s back in Sweden with his fiancée, who is recovering from a heart transplant.

Hurricanes PR: Carolina Hurricanes defenseman K’Andre Miller missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury.

Mark Scheig: Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski will miss today’s game, according to coach Dean Evason. They hope that he’ll return sooner rather than later. Forward Isac Lundestrom is out with a lower-body injury.

Wes Crosby: Dallas Stars defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin missed last night’s game with an illness.

Brooks Bratten: The Nashville Predators have activated defenseman Justin Barron from the IR and he returned to the lineup last night. Forward Jonathan Marchessault missed last night’s game and is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

NHL Rumors: Priority Number One in Buffalo Sign Alex Tuch

Peter Baugh: New York Islanders forward Matt Barzal left in the second period after an awkward collision with Rangers Will Cuylle. Barzal did return for the third.

Stefen Rosner: Islanders forward Bo Horvat returned to the lineup after missing five games.

Lou Korac: St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou returned to the lineup after missing the past nine games with a lower-body injury. Forward Jimmy Snuggerud returned after missing the past 12 games with a wrist injury.

Dave McCarthy: Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander left last night’s game in the second period with a lower-body injury. He’s travelling with the team, but his status for today against the Red Wings is not known.

Vancouver Canucks: Forward Elias Pettersson was activated from the IR.
