Paul Hamilton: Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo doesn’t have a concussion and will be traveling with the team. Linus Ullmark and Zach Bogosian were given a maintenance day.

Nielson might be able to play

Adam Kimelman: Detroit Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen missed yesterday’s game with a stomach bug. He could be in the lineup today.

Benning to the IR

Edmonton Oilers: The Oilers put defenseman Matt Benning on the IR and recalled forward Sam Gagner.

Jon Rosen: Los Angeles Kings Willie Desjardins said that defenseman Alec Martinez was injured towards the end of their previous game and it’s not a re-aggravation from his prior injury.

Ladd and Hickey to LTIR but on a conditioning stint

Andrew Gross: The New York Islanders moved Andrew Ladd and Thomas Hickey to the LTIR. They don’t have to be activated right safter their conditioning stint is over.

Brian Compton: Ladd and Hickey will play at least three games on their conditioning stint, possibly two more if the Islanders request it.

Skjei status not known yet

Colin Stephenson: New York Rangers coach David Quinn didn’t know if defenseman Brady Skjei is able to go today. Fredrik Claesson has been cleared to return.

Gunnarsson to the IR

St. Louis Blues: The Blues put Carl Gunnarsson on the IR and have recalled Sammy Blais.

Karlsson return after missing nine

Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson returned to the lineup after missing the past nine games with a groin injury.

Morrow out two-three weeks

Mitchell Clinton: Winnipeg Jets defenseman Joe Morrow will be out for two to three weeks with a lower-body injury.
