On the Ottawa Senators …
Ian Mendes of TSN: Senators forward Clarke MacArthur is still hoping to return this season.
“I’m always holding out for this year. I could care less about next year,” MacArthur said. “I’m only training like this and doing what I’m doing now for this year. Next year is next year. I’m going to do anything I can to get back in and if they clear me, I’ll be ready.”
He’s planning on joining the team at some point on their road trip. He’d like to get into some regular season games. MacArthur will need to undergo baseline tests again and they don’t have one schedule at this time.
Ken Warren: Viktor Stalberg, Chris Neil and Clarke MacArthur were all practice in a no-contact jersey. They are all unlikely to play tonight.
On the San Jose Sharks …
Paul Gackle: Defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic practiced with the team yesterday. Joe Thornton and Logan Couture weren’t on the ice. Thornton may have been given a maintenance day.
Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area: Forward Logan Couture took a puck to the face on Saturday, losing several teeth. Yesterday he was at the dentist.
“You see him the next day, the swelling wasn’t as bad as we thought,” DeBoer said. “He’s seeing the dentist today, and going to have some dental work done. But, I think the initial prognosis is that we feel pretty fortunate with the amount of damage compared to what it could have been.”
The Sharks have seven regular season games left and they are unsure when he’ll be able to return.
On the Tampa Bay Lightning …
Bryan Burns: Cedric Paquette, Tyler Johnson and Jason Garrison all weren’t on the ice for their morning skate yesterday.
On the Carolina Hurricanes …
Eddie Lack: “Thanks for all thoughts and prayers everything looks alright and I’ll be able to go home tonight! Thanks for thinking of me”
Terrell Williams of Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes released the below statement.
“Eddie Lack is currently undergoing tests at UNC REX Hospital. He does have full feeling in his extremities. The Hurricanes will provide additional information about his condition when it is available.”
