“Kings center Jeff Carter sustained a cut to his left leg during the first period of last night’s game and today is undergoing a surgical procedure to repair the injury. He is out indefinitely.”

Bob McKenzie: Carter’s surgery was to fix the damage done to his ankle tendon. Six to eight weeks might be the best case scenario.

Bob McKenzie: Carter’s injury is not to his Achilles’ tendon.

Chris Johnston: The Kings signed forward Brooks Laich to a one-year, two-way deal that pays him $650,000 in the NHL and $50,000 in the AHL.
