Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Steven Stamkos will be out for one to three months with a blood clot in his right arm. Stamkos will have a procedure done on Monday. It’s the same thing that goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy went through at the start of the season.
“Obviously this situation is extremely disappointing because I wanted to help my team clinch a playoff spot,” Stamkos said in a statement. “I will do all I can to help my teammates, and I hope to rejoin them soon in the Stanley Cup playoffs.”
GM Steve Yzerman said that Stamkos saw the doctors after Thursday’s game after he was feeling some discomfort in his right arm. There was some swelling and his fingers were a little tingly.

Bill West: Coach Mike Sullivan said that Marc-Andre Fleury wasn’t feeling well when he showed up for practice on Friday. He went to the doctors and was diagnosed with a concussion,

Eric Stephens: Brandon Pirri (upper-body) didn’t skate with the team yesterday.
Anaheim Ducks: Frederik Andersen, Kevin Bieksa and Simon Despres were all on the ice before the team practiced yesterday. David Perron had an off ice workout and could start skating soon.

Craig Morgan: Defenseman Michael Stone will be out for six months after having ACL/MCL surgery on Friday. If he’s on target in his rehab, he’ll be ready to return at the end of training camp next year.
Sarah McLellan: Martin Hanzal missed last night’s game with an upper-body injury and is day-to-day. Eric Selleck is also out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
On the Ottawa Senators …
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Tomorrow the Senators will decide if Mark Stone will play again this season. Stone was hit by Dustin Byfuglien last week and is still sore. He didn’t break any bones.
