NHL Injury Updates
Eric Russo of Boston Bruins: Defenseman Torey Krug didn’t practice yesterday and is out tonight with an upper-body injury.
“We will re-evaluate as the week goes on,” said Cassidy. “We’re not taking him out of the equation this weekend. He was here , but again, until I get more I’ve got nothing for you.”
Also not practicing or playing tonight include Jake DeBrusk (lower body), Brett Ritchie (upper body), and David Backes (upper body).
Defenseman Kevan Miller is back practicing but still has some work to do. He won’t be back this week but they will see how he is next week.
Mike Chambers: Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said that Philipp Grubauer and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare will travel with the team.
Defenseman Nikita Zadorov won’t leave with the team but he could join them later on.
Adrian Dater: Zadorov has two plates and screws in his jaw. He could be back in the lineup towards the end of their trip.
Ryan S. Clark: There is still no timetable for injured Avs players Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen and Colin Wilson.
Michael Russo: Minnesota Wild defenseman Marcus Foligno is more week-to-week than he is to day-to-day according to GM Bill Guerin.
Michael Russo: Wild forward Luke Kunin was practicing yesterday, Foligno wasn’t.
Michael Russo: Wild defenseman Greg Pateryn should be ready to start practicing when the team returns. They will initially carry eight defensemen when he’s able to return to the lineup.
Jon Rosen: The Los Angeles Kings put forward Trevor Lewis on the IR with a lower-body injury.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Coach Mike Sullivan on Sidney Crosby: “Sid is continuing to be evaluated right now. I don’t have an update for you. He will not play against the Rangers tomorrow. When I get further information, I will let you know.”
- Wes Crosby: Sullivan when asked if Crosby’s injury could be long-term: “I don’t know.”
Colin Stephenson: New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad is doubtful for their road trip to Florida.
Sens Communications: Ottawa Senators forward Jonathan Davidsson missed last night’s game with a lower-body injury,
Curtis Pashelka: San Jose Sharks forward Joe Thornton is “dealing with a little something” according to coach Pete DeBoer. He missed the last six minutes of Saturday’s game. He is good to play tonight though,
Cap Friendly: The Washington Capitals have activated forward Richard Panik off the IR. Their projected salary cap space is now just under $556,000.
