Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse and defenseman Jason Demers didn’t practice yesterday.

Craig Morgan of The Athletic: Coyotes defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson is about six and a half weeks into his 10 to 12-week recovery for his broken fibula.

“Nik is progressing well,” president of hockey operations John Chayka said. “No new timetable at this stage.”

Charlie Roumeliotis: Chicago Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton on forward Dylan Strome: “He came in this morning … and he wasn’t feeling great. Obviously that’s a serious thing, we want to be careful. He got evaluated by the doctors and we pulled him out.”

Lauren Jbara: Colorado Avalanche forward Mikko Rantanen said that he won’t be in the lineup tonight but is hopeful to be able to return on the weekend.

Ryan S. Clark: Avs forward Gabriel Landeskog was one the before practice yesterday.

Dana Wakiji: Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said that forward Anthony Mantha could be out for a couple of weeks. He doesn’t require any procedures.

Lisa Dillman: Los Angeles Kings statement on defenseman Alec Martinez.

“Alec sustained a laceration to his right wrist and was taken to Keck Medicine of USC where he underwent successful surgery to repair a radial artery and two superficial radial nerves. Alec will be evaluated weekly and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Laura Albanese: New York Rangers coach David Quinn said forward Mika Zibanejad will return to the lineup tonight barring a setback.

Brendan Batchelor: Vancouver Canucks forward Brandon Sutter practiced yesterday.

Jay Beagle, Micheal Ferland and Nikolay Goldobin didn’t practice. Ferland did skate before practice on his own.

Mitchell Clinton: Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice said that defenseman Nathan Beaulieu isn’t traveling with the team.

Maurice said that forward Bryan Little is progressing but they don’t have a timeline for when he’ll return. Little has been able to do some light bike riding and was at the arena yesterday.
