NHL injury updates
Eric Stephens: Anaheim Ducks Sam Steel returned to the lineup.
Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson will be out for at least three months with a cracked fibula according to a source. Hjalmarsson suffered the injury after blocking an Erik Johnson slapshot.
Matt Porter: Boston Bruins David Krejci left in the first period after suffering an upper-body injury. He took a cross-check from Ryan Getzlaf and later an elbow from Josh Manson.
Joe Haggerty of NBC Sports: The Bruins didn’t have much of an update on Krejci after the game.
“Obviously, he left . He tried to play through it, but didn’t come back. We’ll see how he is. is an off day, so Wednesday we’ll have a better idea. How did we play through it? We had to use other people, obviously, more.”
Mike Chambers: Colorado Avalanche forward J.T. Compher is still out with a lower-body injury.
Helene St. James: Detroit Red Wings forward Frans Nielsen could be ready to return to the lineup tonight.
Minnesota Wild: Wild forward Mats Zuccarello (lower-body) didn’t travel with the team on their road trip.
New York Islanders: The Islanders put forward Casey Cizikas on the IR with a lower-body injury retroactive to October 8th. Forward Oliver Wahlstrom was recalled.
New Jersey Devils: Devils coach John Hynes said there will be an update on defenseman Andy Greene later this week.
New Jersey Devils: Coach Hynes didn’t have an update on forward Nico Nischier who left yesterday’s game earlier.
JJ Regan: Washington Capitals defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler went through and passed concussion protocol according to coach Todd Reirden.
Tarik El-Bashir: Capitals defenseman Michal Kempny wasn’t able to go yesterday but they are hopeful that he’ll be able to return sometime this week.
