NHL Injury Updates
Mark Scheig: Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson missed last night’s game with an illness.
Elliott Teaford: Ducks defenseman Josh Manson has been out for almost six weeks and could be getting close to returning. The initial timeline for his sprainded knee was five to 10 weeks. The Ducks will practice for the next few days before facing the Capitals on Friday.
Lance Lysowski: Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo said that he thought about retiring from hockey after his last concussion. He is expecting to return to the lineup during their Western road trip.
- Lance Lysowski: Sabres coach Ralph Krueger said that Okposo is still “a ways away” from returning to the lineup or taking contact.
Tracey Myers: Chicago Blackhawks Andrew Shaw, Dylan Strome and Duncan Keith all missed last night’s game. Strome said that he is felling better but wasn’t able to go.
Mike Chambers: Colorado Avalanche coach Jared Bedner said that Mikko Rantanen had the day off yesterday.
Forward Andre Burakovsky could join the team on their road trip.
Defenseman Erik Johnson won’t be joining the team on the road. He is out “week-to-week.”
Forward Colin Wilson had lower-body surgery and is out long-term.
- Adrian Dater: Rantanen is expected to play tomorrow. Forward Matt Calvert is expected to return soon.
- Ryan S. Clark: Avs Gabriel Landeskog was on the ice yesterday in a no-contact jersey.
Bruce Garrioch: The Ottawa Senators put goaltender Craig Anderson on the IR retroactive to last Tuesday. He is eligible to come off the IR tomorrow.
Josh Getzoff: Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust is day-to-day. Forward Patric Hornqvist was being evaluated by medical staff after leaving practice early.
Bryan Burns: Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Braydon Coburn didn’t practice as he remains out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.
Chris Johnston: Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner returned to full practice yesterday and is eligible to come off the LTIR on Wednesday. Their original timeline for Marner to return was at least next week.
Chris Johnston: Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas said that they hope to get Marner back “in the coming days.”
Cap Friendly: The Vancouver Canucks put forward Micheal Ferland on the LTIR and gives the Canucks $3.5 million in extra space.
