Adam Henrique as an Anaheim Ducks cap casualty. No one should be surprised.

 

Ducks lock up Adam Henrique for five years …

NHL.com: The Anaheim Ducks have signed forward Adam Henrique to a five-year contract extension ($5.85 million salary cap hit) that will kick in after the start of next season.

After being acquired from the New Jersey Devils with Joseph Blandisi and a 3rd round pick for Sami Vatanen and a conditional pick, Henrique recorded 20 goals and 16 assists in 57 games.

“I felt like I had been there for years with some of those guys,” Henrique said in a statement released by the Ducks. “It’s one of the reasons I wanted to stay. I’m excited it’s done, I’m excited for what’s ahead and I’m excited for hopefully bringing a Cup back there.”

Flames lock up Lindholm for six years …

Calgary Flames: The Flames have signed forward Elias Lindholm to a six-year contract with a $4.85 million salary cap hit.

Lindholm scored 16 goals and added 28 assists in 81 games last season. He’s scored 64 goals with 124 assists for 188 points in 374 career games.

Cory Lavalette: Lindholm had been asking the Hurricanes for five-years and $5 million before he was traded to the Flames.

Renaud Lavoie: The Flames have signed goaltender Jon Gillies to a two-year contract extension worth $750,000 a season. Next year it will be a two-way deal, and the following year it will be a one-way deal.

Avs sign three …

Joe Nguyen of the Denver Post: The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed goaltender Spencer Martin, and defenseman Mason Geertsen and Ryan Graves to one-year contracts.

Predators re-sign their backup goalie to a nice three-year deal …

NHL: The Predators have re-signed goaltender Juuse Saros to a three-year contract with a salary cap hit of $1.5 million.

Saros finished last season with an 11-5-7 record with a 2.44 GAA, .925 save percentage and three shutouts.

Brooks Bratten of NHL.com: The Predators re-signed forward Ryan Hartman to a one-year deal at $875,000.

Hartman had offseason shoulder surgery and is hopeful to be ready for the start of the season.

Islanders get two RFAs under contract …

Andrew Gross: The New York Islanders have re-signed restricted free agents Devon Toews and Kyle Burroughs to two-year, two-way deals.
