Pierre LeBrun: The Bruins put forward Matt Beleskey on waivers. Beleskey has two years left on his contract at a $3.8 million salary cap hit.
Joe Haggerty: In his last 64 games, Beleskey has only three goals and is a minus 18. He doesn’t have any points this season.
Joe Haggerty: Bruins GM Don Sweeney: “Matt was placed on waivers with the hope that he will have the opportunity to go to Providence, play in all situations, get his confidence and game back to the level he brought in his first year with the Bruins.”
Matt Kalman: Coach Bruce Cassidy said that he talked to a few players about Beleskey going on waivers. He was a well-liked teammate and a good mentor.

Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times: Lightning forward Ryan Callahan crashed hard into the boards in the third period and could be out for an extended period of time. Callahan was favoring his right wrist/arm and his arm was in a sling after the game.
“(The win) is kind of bittersweet with Cally going down,” captain Steven Stamkos said. “I’m sick to my stomach to watch a guy work as hard as he did to come back, play so well and to have something like that. It didn’t look very good.”
They’ll find out the extent of the injury today after he’s evaluated.
