Sean Shapiro: Stars head coach Ken Hitchcock said it was over his pay grade when asked if Martin Hanzal would need offseason surgery.

Helene St. James: Defenseman Mike Green said that he will be in the lineup on Friday.

Dana Wakiji: Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg was given a maintenance day yesterday and is expected to play tonight.

Curtis Zupke: The Kings have signed Gabriel Vilardi to a three-year entry-level contract.

Amanda Stein: Goaltender Cory Schneider returned to the lineup last night.

On Seattle …

Chris Daniels of King5: Potential Seattle owners David Bonderman, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Oak View Group CEO Tim Leiweke are hopeful they will know if they are awarded an expansion franchise by June.

They’ve received 40 to 50 name ideas and have ruled out using green and gold saying that would be a future NBA team.

King5: With refundable season tickets starting at $500, Seattle reached 10,000 in the first ten minutes, 25,000 in the first hour. Vegas took a couple weeks to reach 10,000 when they did their ticket drive.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Rick Dhaliwal: Have heard that defenseman Chris Tanev is off crutches and could be two to three weeks away from returning.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

SinBin.vegas: Coach Gerard Gallant said that James Neal is questionable for tonight and is “not long-term.”

Vegas Golden Knights: Gallant said that defenseman Luca Sbisa is out for a while and Nate Schmidt is day-to-day.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Brian Munz: Defenseman Toby Enstrom won’t be in the lineup tonight. Goaltender Steve Mason will play in an AHL game this weekend.

Ken Wiebe: Forward Adam Lowry and defenseman Jacob Trouba are not back with the Jets main group yet.
