Jonathan Davis: Have heard that the concussion lawsuit that was filed by 140 NHL players could have a resolution next Wednesday at a press conference in New York.

John Hoven: The Board of Governors meeting are scheduled to begin next Tuesday in New York.

Jones to have lower-body injury checked out

Brian Hedger: Columbus Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella yesterday on Seth Jones‘ lower-body injury: “He gets checked tomorrow. We’ll have more information tomorrow.”

Capitals Kempny leaves in the third period

Ben Raby: Washington Capitals Coach Todd Reirden didn’t update defensemen Michal Kempny‘s status after the game as he was still being evaluated. Kempny left in the third period with an upper-body injury.

No timetable on when Green could return

Helene St. James: Detroit Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said that defenseman Mike Green (virus) is feeling better andwas able to ride a bike yesterday. They still don’t have a timetable on when he could return.

Ward released from his PTO

On Smith being placed on waivers

TSN 1200: Matt Duchene on Smith being played on waivers: “is a kick in the balls for us in this locker room.”

Kyle Bukauskas: Ottawa Senators coach Guy Boucher had said he had planned to have Zack Smith centering Mark Stone and Brady Tkachuk throughout this week. It seems that the coach didn’t see Smith being placed on waivers either.

Don Brennan: Boucher said that if Smith clears waivers, he would still be in the same spot on their depth chart. So it appears that him being on waivers is strictly a money move.
