On the Washington Capitals …
Isabelle Khurshudyan of the Washington Capitals: Forward T.J. Oshie was pulled from last night’s game with a 7:14 left as a precaution. He crashed into the board heavily after attempting a hit. The Capitals are off today and are hopeful that it’s not serious.

On the New Jersey Devils …
Tom Gulitti of NHL.com: Center Brian Boyle has missed the entire preseason after being diagnosed with chromic myeloid leukemia, but he’s hopeful to be able to play in their season opener.
“There’s a possibility,” Devils coach John Hynes said after a 4-1 win against the Washington Capitals in their preseason finale at Capital One Arena on Wednesday. “Brian will be back with us starting and then we’ll just kind of see where he goes over the next week. But nothing has been ruled out yet.”
Boyle has been skating by himself and sometimes with teammates while he’s been going through treatments. He hasn’t taken part in a full practice yet.
