Vegas Golden Knights: The Golden Knights have signed NCAA free agent defenseman Zach Whitecloud to a three-year entry-level contract.

Steve Carp: GM George McPhee on Whitecloud: “He’s a mobile defenseman. He moves the puck real well and he’s a safe player right now. We think he plays conservatively & we believe he can give us a lot more offensively. He has lots of room for growth. He’s good and safe and conservative.”

Ken Wiebe: Coach Paul Maurice said that Mark Scheifele is day-to-day. There is no structural damage and it’s not related to his previous issue.

Ken Wiebe: Coach Maurice on goaltender Steve Mason‘s lower-body injury:  “We’re not 100 % sure of the significance of it.” They are officially listing him as day-to-day for now.

Ken Wiebe: Defenseman Jacob Trouba isn’t expected to play before the end of their road trip. He’ll need a few days of contact in practice before he’ll be ready.
