Cory Lavalette: The Hurricanes re-signed Andrew Poturalski to a one-year, two-way contract – $700,000 in the NHL and $70,000 in the AHL.

On the Dallas Stars …

Sean Shapiro: Valeri Nichushkin‘s agent wouldn’t comment on the report that he’s signing a two-year deal with the Stars. doesn’t have any reason to doubt the report. Any contract isn’t able to be official until July 1st.

Aivis Kalnins: Looking like Oilers Iiro Pakarinen has signed with Metallurg of the KHL.

On the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs …

Mike Zeisberger: The Edmonton Oilers acquired the rights to forward Nolan Vesey from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a conditional 2020 7th round pick. Vesey recorded 25 points in 37 games for the Maine Black Bears last season. Vesey was selected 158th in the 2014 draft by the Maple Leafs.

Dhiren Mahiban: The Oilers sign Vesey to a two-year, entry-level deal.

Jonathan Willis: “Vesey’s offensive game has never developed; he had 10 goals and 23 points in his first year of college, and coming off his fourth has 11 goals and 25 points. But he just turned 23, EDM gave up almost nothing to get him, and he’ll fill a hole at LW in the AHL next season.”
