Chris Johnston: Discussions between the NHLPA and NHL are ongoing regarding the next World Cup of Hockey. Don Fehr said that 2019 is too soon, but possible times are February 2020 and September 2020.
Greg Wyshynski: Commissioner Gary Bettman said that the NHL is “not currently considering an application” for an expansion team in Quebec City.
Pierre LeBrun: Gary Bettman said that the Seattle group are still working on their expansion application. It should be submitted “in the not too distant future.” guess they will file it in the next week or two.
Chris Johnston: Bettman indicated that Seattle would get same expansion draft rules as the Vegas Golden Knights did.
Darren Dreger: THe NHL and NHLPA are still resolving some issues for the Flames – Bruins trip to China.
On the Calgary Flames …
Wes Gilbertson: The Flames put Jaromir Jagr on waivers yesterday. If he clears, it’s likely that he returns to the Czech League.
Bob McKenzie: Would be a surprise if someone claimed Jagr. He wants to keep playing and will head to Europe if unclaimed.
Bob McKenzie: If Jagr clears, the Flames could assign him to a European team to finish his contract and not have to put him on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract.
Elliotte Friedman: Jagr will most likely end up with Kladno in the Czech Republic.

Ted Wyman: Defenseman Jacob Trouba will be out for six to eight weeks with an ankle injury.
Ken Wiebe of the Winnipeg Sun: Trouba suffered the ankle injury towards the end of Thursday’s OT game with Anaheim.
Defenseman Dmitry Kulikov was injured against San Jose last week and his status won’t be known until later today.
Forward Adam Lowry is close to returning to the lineup.
Forward Mark Scheifele and goaltender Steve Mason remain out.
