NHL Rumors: Blues, Flyers, Ducks and Maple Leafs

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler after the Toronto Maple Leafs score
On the St. Louis Blues …

Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch: (chat) Kevin Shattenkirk situation may be a higher priority than Patrick Berglund. Don’t think that Blues will let Berglund go to free agency and guess is that they will look to re-sign him.

The Blues would like to keep Shattenkirk, but they don’t want to pay him $6 million plus a season when they have Colton Parayko on the roster and Jordan Schmaltz getting close. The Blues still might be able to find a way to keep him, but the money would have to come down.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

Sam Carchidi: When asked if the Flyers would consider trading a goalie to the Kings and who would they prefer to move … If the price was right, they’d probably prefer to move Michal Neuvirth. Flyers GM Ron Hextall likes to have two strong goalies though.

On the Anaheim Ducks and Hampus Lindholm …

Jimmy Murphy: “Chatter from scouts & one NHL exec to me tonight that #Ducks working on deal w/#HampusLindholm, but also exploring trading him … Asked an NHL exec what he heard on Anaheim trade front and he replied: “They let it be known they will trade Lindholm for a top young D” … Just to clarify, the “will” in the Lindholm tweet meant willing. As in, the Ducks are WILLING to trade Lindholm. No certainty they will.”

Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks have gained some salary cap flexibility when they put Simon Despres on the LTIR. Despres has dealt with some concussion-related problems in the past. This could be the first move that Ducks will need make with regards to their salary cap for if/when they agree to a contract with Hampus Lindholm. Lindholm’s contract should come in between $5 and $6 million when done.

On the Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Cam Fowler …

Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun: The Ducks have scouted the Maple Leafs for a couple games during the Maple Leafs road trip. Queue up the Cam Fowler trade rumors again.
