NHL Rumors: Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and the Nashville Predators

The Boston Bruins interested in both Ryan McDonagh and Rick Nash?
On the Boston Bruins and the New York Rangers …

Kevin Paul Dupont: Wonder if a package of Trent Frederic, Brandon Carlo, and a first-round pick would be enough for Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh.

Jimmy Murphy: It is all just trade talk and speculation … The Bruins are interested in both Rangers forward Rick Nash and defenseman Ryan McDonagh. There are many people wondering if the Bruins could acquire both – they do have the assets to get it done.

On the Boston Bruins and the Nashville Predators …

NHL.com: The Bruins have a nice collection of young talent. Bruins president Cam Neely didn’t rule out the possibility of moving some of it before the deadline if it made sense.

“It depends on who it is and what it is and what the overall deal looks like,” he said.

On if the Bruins are concerned about disrupting how well things have been going lately.

“That’s a great question,” Neely said. “Because is it tempting to make a deal because of how things are going, too? For me, it’s going to boil down to, what are the costs? We’ve got a good thing going, the players are playing extremely well, the coaching staff has done a great job, we’ve got some good prospects coming. But we recognize where we are right now, and if we can do something that makes sense and think it’s going to help our club that doesn’t cost a fortune, we’ll look at it.”

Predators GM David Poile still finds the asking price a very high.

“I’m open,” Poile said. “I’ve been making lots of calls. I’ve been talking to lots of different teams. As we sit a little less than two weeks from the trading deadline, I find the prices are very high.”
